Breathe

*Breathe*

“Breathe in deeply to bring your mind home to your body.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Breath is the essence of life. When you witness your breath it brings you back to yourself and enhances your awareness of your surroundings. It helps us be in the moment and appreciate the simple things in a world that has become frantic and busy. We literally stop breathing or hold our breath sometimes and don’t even realize it! That changes today. WITNESS your breath.

Set aside at least five minutes every day to take a quiet moment to be with your breath. Find or create a place that you can just be in silence. Sit in position that feels comfortable to rest into. Let your eyes be soft and just breathe softly. Imagine you are welcoming the breath into your body. Sense the places in your body where it is easy to breath and where there is possibility for more breath. In areas where there is possibility for more breath imagine a flower in that space that is about to bloom. As you inhale let the flower blossom as you are able to bring more breath into that space. Thoughts may come but as they do just notice them and let them be. You can allow yourself this time as many times as you would like during your day but strive to do this for at least five minutes a day every day!

You have just let yourself be in the moment! Remember what this feels like so that you can get back to it whenever you need it.
